WHAT'S NEW

Franklin is pleased to announce a change in our drum packaging for Designed in accordance with NIOSHour international customers.

Delivering quality products is very important to us. We are continually striving to improve our customer's overall experience, from the quality of the adhesive or polymer product inside the package, to the packaging presentation itself. Accordingly, Franklin is pleased to announce an improvement in our drum packaging.

Starting January 1, 2011, we will begin phasing out our metal drums and transitioning into a fully recyclable, reusable plastic drum from Mauser.

The new drum is designed in accordance with NIOSH recommendations for easy handing and palletizing. The design permits us to place additional drums in an ocean container reducing the landed cost of our products. Customers will be able to request delivery of drums stowed on pallets; however, there will be an additional charge of $10 for heat treated pallets and these charges will be noted on your invoice.

The plastic drums will eliminate rusting, denting and lining failures. The one piece blow molded design allows for multi-trip and international shipping. The drum is very strong, durable and robust and can support double stacking. Drum lids can be easily removed with their unique lever locking mechanism.

Unloading plastic drums from ocean containers may require adaptation depending on the current method you are using. No changes will be necessary if you are using “parrot beak” or “crab style” drum handling adapters with fork lift equipment. We will continue to use plywood to separate double stacked drums so customers who are using manual labor to roll drums to the ocean container door should continue to have success with their current method. It is not possible for us to anticipate every possible method used to unload our product from ocean containers. If you have concerns regarding this change, please contact us with details and photos detailing your method and we will reply with feedback.

Mauser offers a collection / return program for your empties through National Container Group. You can find more details on our new drum packaging and return policy below.
